Create a backup of an Android phone

This guide shows you step by step how to access the internal storage of an Android phone using AllSync.

1. Install Required Software

  1. Install the free software AndroidDrive on your computer.
  2. Then install the free software Dokan.

2. Enable USB Debugging

To enable the connection between mobile phone and computer, the USB debugging option must be activated on the Android device:
  1. Open your phone's Settings
  2. Navigate to About phone → Software information.
  3. Tap Build number seven times in a row to unlock developer options.
  4. Go back to Settings and open the new Developer options menu at the bottom of the list.
  5. Enable the USB debugging option there.

3. Connect Mobile Phone to Computer

  1. Open AndroidDrive on your computer.
  2. Connect your mobile phone to the computer using a USB cable.
  3. AndroidDrive detects the device and automatically mounts the internal storage as a network drive with a free drive letter.
